HISTORIC

BUILDING RESTORATION

We have spent time – a lot of time - learning and qualifying in our craft. Working with buildings of significance is in our blood. When you call us explaining how important it is that a project follows detailed husbandry we naturally understand that every dowel is handmade, every truss and beam selected for purpose. Throughout a site preservation project, we will walk and talk you through every step of restoration. This is to ensure complete understanding in objectives… to sympathetically restore a building using modern hands in traditional methods.

Carpentry and joinery skills span centuries. Bespoke buildings began as cutting-edge design masterpieces before custodianship took over. Nowadays it is often a labour of love to save crumbling staircases or restore rotting interval roof trusses in listed buildings and places of worship.

Each restoration case we see is studied carefully before work with our team begins. We listen to the requirements and follow regulations to the letter. Absolutely everything is uncovered and discovered. Management committees, Trusts, Councils and all the powers that be are formerly considered when each beam or stone is turned, shaped and replaced and repaired.

Our knowledge spans time and we like to think the team that built a building however many hundreds of years ago would smile and nod, knowing we did it their way.
